A normal Four minute song ripped to Mp3 never exceeds 10 Mb and quality is not very good, the quality of these type of Audio is around 100 kbps to 300 kbps or more which is not the best i show you how to get best quality from audio CDs in FLAC formate.

FLAC - Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) is a file format for audio data compression. Being a lossless compression format, FLAC does not remove information from the audio stream, as lossy compression formats such as MP3, AAC.if you wanna know more about FLAC read this article.

In FLAC formate most songs exceed 30 Mb each. This kind of quality is perfect for Studio use or any situation where high quality equipment is being can Rip FLAC file more then 1000 kbps (depends on CD quality) which is best.
So here we Start

Software Needed

1. Exact Audio Copy - (Sometimes referred to as "EAC")(2.4mb)
2. Foobar - This is optional however it is a good program to play the FLAC files and more.. (2.68mb)

Step 1 Complete the Installation - Most default settings

Step 2 Now you have EAC installed it must be configured correctly. Before you do any configuring however, enter an Audio CD into your drive.

Step 3 Choose the correct drive.

Step 4 For the highest possible quality select "prefer to have accurate results." This may make the copying process longer but it will be worth it!

Step 5 Let EAC test your hardware (This may take a while depending on your hardware devices)

Step 6 EAC will now show the results of these tests. If you have any problems with your drive EAC will highlight this and prevent you from using the program.

Step 7 Confirmation of settings:

Step 8 Here you can learn a small amount about FLAC and the program itself which gives some background info on the codec:

Step 9 Here you must select FLAC in order to gain lossless quality. You may notice you can also use this program to perform smaller rips too.

Step 10 Comfirmation of settings:

Step 11 Here you can provide your email address in order to recieve CD info automatically from the internet however this is quite temperamental and I would suggest doing this manually:

Step 12 You have now successfully configured EAC for use. If you are using this program for the first time select "beginner".

Now you can see the main interface, continue to renaming the files:

Make sure you have a CD inserted and either highlight the tracks you want to copy or Ctrl and click them. Next click "Action" , "Copy Selected Tracks" followed by "Compressed" (Compressed forces the files to be copied into .flac)

Step 14 Choose a save name and directory for the files:

Step 15 Let EAC copy and convert your files. This may take some time depending on the speed of your hardware:

While the program continues to copy the files, from time to time cmd prompt windows may appear and disappear like this:

Don't be alarmed !! It is all part of the process!

Step 16 Converting Finished! Once you see this the copying process has finished.

you may want to move your files to a different directory on your hard drive.

Use Foobar to play .flac files !
