Windows Error Checking Problem

I just ran the Microsoft error checking thing that goes on the next system boot.
i was doing it on my C drive and it was on its 4th or 5th stage at about 20% and the power to the computer was cut.

I turned on the computer to find that it just went into a loop.
goes to the windows loading screen for a few seconds and reboots, keep repeating.
i cant even use safe mode or any of those features.
i used a thing called hirens boot CD and couldn't find anything to help me there, so i just installed xp on my other partition, but i have some files on the c drive that i would like. i cant access them by going onto the good partition.
i would like to know if there is anyway to maybe access it. i am guessing the files are still there.

Sounds like your MFT or some other piece of metadata is screwed up
