Migrating to new WIndows Server 2012 from 2008, moving shares and files

I'm migrating from a Windows 2008 server to a 2012 server. I know how to create shares and move files but is there an easier way that will move shares and files over from a server?

*Restore your backups
*Robocopy
*XCOPY
*Move the file server VHD from one server to the other is the easiest... but you have to be using Virtualization on the new server and then your old server either has to be a properly configured VM or use Disk2VHD to virtualize the hard disk storing the files.

For files, robocopy. It really doesn't get much easier. Shares...if you only have a few, just recreate them. If yo have many, there are scripts on codeplex that can help by taking the most monotonous steps and automating them. But learning the script syntax makes them less useful for only a few shares.

How about the File Server Migration Toolkit http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=10268 ?

I ended up using the ROBOCOPY function which worked great. I did however mean if there was a migration tool, which I did start to use but it gave me errors and I said forget that and used ROBOCOPY.
