Removing or disconnecting unused VM hardware from running VM ?

Hi People,

When I execute the following wonderful script from Alan Renouf

It's A Hot Plug device, so can be safely removed whilst the VM is ON.

Hot Plug devices also include hard disks and network interfaces, they can be added and removed when VMs are ON.

It's Safe to do in business hours, but we would always recommend

1. Take a backup of any production server before modification.

2. Complete any changes to production servers out of core hours.

3. These are good ITIL service practices.

ok, what I mean is to remove it from the VM using vSphere console.
Does it cause any downtime or outage to the Windows Server ?

No downtime.

But if you had a 10,000 users connected to a Virtual Machine, would you risk it?

yeah, I'll schedule it after hours then.

Thanks !
