sorting files in windows 7 using explorer

I have files in Windows 7 with names like
tweets_31-12-10_16-00-01.csv
the 3 is the month, 12 the day, and 10 is 2010.
I have about 600 of them and I want to sort them in explorer from earliest to latest.

Does anyone have an idea about that?

tweets_31-12-10_16-00-01.csv the 3 is the month

For 31, if 3 is month, what is 1?

Thanks. Sorry, I meant that 31 is the day and 12 is the month.

I don't know if it's possible to sort them in Windows Explorer. But, another way is to sort the names into a .txt or .csv file, which you can view or print later.

That's why I always use the YYYY-MM-DD format because it sorts properly. Anything starting with the day will never sort properly. This is what it should look like:
tweets_2010-12-31_16-00-01.csv

I suggest you write a program that copies all the files to a new directory (so you don't lose any in the process) and convert the files names in the process. Then it will be very easy to sort the new files names.

I am not proficient in writing that script but also the total size is about 300 gb
