Windows 7 system freeze and shared drives disconnect 2008R2 environment

Dear Experts,

All my Windows 7 clients freeze randomly for about 1min and loose all network shares

Extremely frustrating for users as desktop redirection and network application shares dissapear

noticed that if I run a ping -t to server from client , the issue does not occur

Problem started recently on all clients and don't find the root cause

server: 2008 R2 Std x64 (DC,DNS,DHCP,FileServer,PrintServer)
clients: W7 SP1 x64 (about 80pc's)

Any help or suggestions are highly appreciated

Thanks

All my Windows 7 clients freeze randomly for about 1min and loose all network shares on Server 2008

1. Probably not a workstation problem because ALL workstations are affected.

2. What size of network. Can you replace a switch or try an alternate switch. A switch can be going bad.

3. Patch panel issues: Try one or two different network cables.

4. Server issues.
(a) Run all Windows Updates and ensure complete.
(b) Make sure DHCP and DNS are running properly.
(C) Reset TCP/IP and Flush DNS.

Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator
Then netsh int ip reset c:resetlog.txt
Also, ipconfig /flushdns followed by net stop dnscache followed by net start dnscache
Now restart the server.

@Tom_vd_Heuvel - Thanks for the update and I was happy to help. I thought it might be server related.
