Windows Server 2008 deployed printers not showing on Windows 7 clients

The gpresult /h seems to show that the printers are deployed but when Devices and Printers is open on Windows 7 computer, the printers are not showing.

Did windows 7 refreshed the GP? You can try to force GP update from windows 7, or even restart the windows 7 machine

Hi,

This could be a driver issue here. Did you added x86 (32bit) drivers for your Windows 7 clients?. This can be added either from server or from the client machines

Double click on "Printers"
Right click on the PrintSharexx
Click on the "Sharing" tab
Click on the "Additional Drivers..."
Check the box for 'x86 Type 3 - User Mode'

Click OK.

The problem shows in both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 clients. If I check Sharing, I see Share this printer and Render prints jobs on client computers checked. If I click Additional Drivers, I see both x86 and x64 checked.

I reboot the client Windows 7 computers. Seems there was a reason when gpresults /force does not work.

To get around this problem, the printers and the group policies were reloaded.

This is what was done. The method was more brute load and it doesn't specific find a specific fix.
