SQL 2012 won't install on Dell Precision 490 running Windows 2012 RS

We have a Dell Precision 490 running Windows 2012 R2 fully patched and we are trying to load SQL 2012 w/SP2 and we are having issues. We can get through a good portion of the install and then it fails. We think we have it narrowed down to an issue with the BIOS reporting back a different sector size but we can't confirm that.

The error that we see in the event log is as follows;
Cannot use file 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL11.MSSQLSERVERMSSQLDATAmaster.mdf' because it was originally formatted with sector size 4096 and is now on a volume with sector size 3072. Move the file to a volume with a sector size that is the same as or smaller than the original sector size.

We have been looking at the following tech info

High probability it's BIOS or Storage firmware/drivers. Update those if possible. If all are updated to the newest, you're left with a workaround (which you might not like):- External drive on USB (ouch) or
- Second internal drive that's NOT on the same storage (plug it onboard, where the optical drive is usually connected to).
Do a full install there (make sure program and databases point to there)
