Thanks,

If you look round for brandname DIMMs - Crucial, Kingston, Samsung, HyperX you are guaranteed a better product.

The main requirement is that they meet these specs - 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC and maximum of 2 modules. What you have listed above will suit.

Where you buy them from will not affect what you get - It's price vs convenience....

Hope this helps

from the manual : pg49 http://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/optiplex-9020-desktop_Owner's%20Manual_en-us.pdf
Table 16. Memory
Type DDR3
Speed 1600MHz
Mini-Tower, Small Form Factor four DIMM slots
Ultra Small Form Factor two DIMM slots
Capacity 2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB
Maximum memory: Mini-Tower, Small Form Factor 32 GB
Ultra Small Form Factor 16 GB

so the ram you selected has a lower speed - but probably works
why probably ? some boards are very picky about ram model and brand - so test it out

the guaranteed working ones are on the vendors ram list

Crucial's website lists that RAM as being compatible with the 9020, so that will be fine.

I presume you've considered whether the new sticks will be added to existing ones, or will replace them? If they're adding, you obviously need enough empty slots to take them, and I'd also make sure that they were the same speed as the original ones - the system will still run otherwise, but the memory on all banks will be limited to be as slow as the slowest stick you have fitted.

Is there a way to find out what kind of RAM stick is already installed (speed) , without the need to remove the stick to look at it?
Some software that checks all this?

Yes , it will be addition to an already existing 4GB stick ..
