Xerox WorkCentre 7665 won't print color

I have a client who has a Xerox WorkCentre 7665 on site. The printer is installed on a Windows 2008 r2 server and shared over the network. For some reason the printer has decided to print only black and white from the server and all the clients. I changed the "color correction" setting on the server, but can't find any other option to make the thing print color. I have a call in with the Copier vendor, but having used them in the past at another job, I happen to know their support team is slow and sucks and that I probably won't get a call back till some time tomorrow when I'm not on-site. The printer copies in color no problem, and if I install the Global Print Driver manually on a workstation it prints color; but re-installing the printer on every machine isn't an option.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.



As a former Analyst for Xerox I always started with the below.

1) Can you print a test page, locally from the server, in color?

2) The installed driver (on the Server) has a few tabs. Go to:
* The 'Advanced' Tab
- select 'Printing Defaults'
- verify color is set, apply
* The 'General' Tab
- select 'Printing Preferences'
- verify color is set, apply
* Check all sub-menus to make sure 'Print in grayscale' is NOT selected (check box)
* Print a test page, make sure the logo is in color on the print

3) Verify the settings on the Server following the above directions
Open any color document and print it in color

If it does print in color on the Server, good! Next:1) Delete and reinstall the (shared) print driver from a workstation
2) Reinstall the (shared) driver from the Server onto the workstation.
3) Verify all of the Printing Defaults and Printing Preferences are set for color
4) Print a test page, then TWO SEPARATE color documents from two other programs

I couldn't print color from the server. The vendor actually called back a few minutes after I posted this, which is EXTREMELY unlike them. We wound up just installing a new printer with a different driver.



I had previous tried the first expert's suggestion before posting the question. Vendor tech support handled the issue.
