deploy lync 2013 through GPO

Hi,

we have been trying to deploy Lync 2013 with no luck. I followed microsofts OCT installer. I created a MSP package. It wont deploy.

If you are trying to deploy via GPSI, it won't work. Like the rest of office 2013, GPSI is not a supported deployment method. You'll have to look at doing a startup script or a 3rd party deployment tool like SCCM.

thank you, we tried doing a startup script pointing to a bat, that points to the msp
didn't send the install

You still have to call the MSI. The .msp fipr just patches the .msi with the custom bits you changed (the P in msp stands for patch.) As such, an .msp file alone is not sufficient to install any program. This isn't unique to Lync or office.

ok I created a batch using START an the exe. How can I add domain admin rights to this batch so that all computers install automatically

Scripts in a GPO run under the system account by default. It has the necessary permissions.
