Group Policy and Internet Explorer 11 Compatibility Mode not working

Here is the situation:
We have 4 Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controllers and the client OS’s are anything from XP (yes still) to Windows 8. We have IE8 (most common) and now are bringing in Windows Surface tablets everywhere with IE 11. I was able to adjust my group policy to take all IE8 computers browsers out of “compatibility mode” and then specify in group policy those sites that need to be set to stay in “compatibility mode” via a registry edit. However this policy does NOT seem to apply to IE11. The Group Policy is being applied and verified BUT does not take IE11 out of “compatibility mode”. Unless it is doing this in the background the check-box in IE11 for “display sites in compatibility mode” is remaining no matter what. So the question is now: Do I need to add an ADM into my group policy and WILL group policy even work for IE11? I can see that it should be supported via forums BUT again the settings I don't see changing at all with IE11.

Thanks!

In order to control IE 11 settings you will need to download the IE 11 ADM/ADMX file. From there you will need to configure the settings on the template and then apply them to the machines that have IE 11 installed.

Thanks Will BUT if I add that as it recommends via command line will it overwrite my IE8 settings or am I better off jumping on a machine with IE11 and seeing if I can setup gp local and export the adm and try to import to a test gp? (under a test ou)
