Windows 7 has dot computername in the userprofile

this morning i started my computer and i see that my userprofile is empty.

My normal userprofile is snelstart in windows the name is still snelstart but if i look in cmd the name is snelstart.snelstartserver
also when i start a other username it doesnt start the profile but "profilename"."computername"

Thanks for your help

Danny

OK this usually happens because the profiles c:user snelstart has become corrupted. You have not lost your files but what you have to do is trick you system to go back to your old profile. However if it is truly corrupted the process will not work; it will simply re-create C:Userssnelstart.snelstartserver. First reboot your system then logon as another admin user, snelstart 2) Go to C:Users and rename c:usersnelstart to c:usersnelstart.good 3) then delete C:Userssnelstart.snelstartserver 4) start regedit and make a backup 5) browse to HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionProfileList and find the entries for both C:Userssnelstart.snelstartserver & C:Userssnelstart and delete both (if any are named .BAK then abort this process and notify me of that--different process needed) 6) now reboot and logon. Verify that a user is created as C:Userssnelstart, if it has then 6) reboot again and logon as some other admin user and browse to C:Users and there rename C:Userssnelstart as C:Userssnelstart.new and rename C:Userssnelstart.good as C:Userssnelstart. Now logon as snelstart and you old profile should be there. If this process does not work then it means there is something wrong with your profile and windows will not "allow" you to logon with it. Again, your files are not lost you can always go to C:Users but you may have to live with the new profile and copy files from the bad on to the new one. Be patient and follow the steps--it works in 90% of the cases.

your comments imply that you are in a workgroup. are your previous userprofiles still available? It looks like the profile
from a command prompt get your SID
wmic useraccount get name,sid

David,

From my machine its not possible to do a copy/paste so i attached the files you asked.
I do not see anything wrong ;? (only a lot of userfiles :)
I attached also the directory users to show you how it look like (i only logged on the "administratie wp1 and Snelstart")

Thanks for your help

Thanks for your help everything looked ok till i did the last step copied the snelstart.good to snelstart the profile goes black and restarts to the users again.
You deserve already the points but i leave the question for a few days open, maybe somebody get a brilliant idea because to reinstall this computer is a lot of work.

Thanks again

Danny
